You do not need to have read one to enjoy the other. They share the same universe, but each stands on its own.
There are mysteries that connect them.

A metal.
A signal.
A kind of darkness that has a word for itself.
The deeper truths of Tretaxis reveal themselves slowly. Through the observations of explorers, scientists, rulers, outcasts, and those history rarely remembers.

What This Is
A Broken Whisper is being written with an eye toward traditional publication—agent submission, possibly print, possibly Kindle. It’s a different kind of project than Crown of Dust, and the paid tier reflects that.
This story isn’t going anywhere. I have no plans to take it down, and the odds of a publisher requiring that are slim. You’re not racing a deadline. You’re getting to read it as it’s made.
And this is one piece of a larger universe. When it’s finished, there will be more—some free, some here for paid subscribers first. This is the beginning of that, not the whole of it.
